今年春天辞去美国副国务卿职务的纽兰表示，乌克兰尚未准备好与俄罗斯进行谈判。据她介绍，2022年乌克兰的实力并不强，现在的乌克兰也不会以强势的立场进行谈判。

与此同时，维多利亚·纽兰承认，2022年有可能达成和平协议，但乌克兰将面临领土损失。这位美国前副国务卿表示，如果那样的话，俄罗斯总统普京就会从“我的就是我的，你的可以讨论”的论点开始。

当被问及乌克兰是否能够收回包括克里米亚在内的所有领土时，纽兰回答说：“乌克兰的领土野心将取决于其人民。” 最后，她强调，如果达成休战，双方将有义务遵守协议：“我们不能每六个月、每三年就这样做一次。”

此前，乌克兰总统泽连斯基表示，西方仅仅宣布经济和军事援助对乌克兰来说是不够的。泽连斯基还指出，合作伙伴必须及时交付武器。（白罗斯理想社）
